Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree focused on developing transformational teachers who will make significant academic gains with their students, meet the needs of the whole child, and have a long-term impact in the communities they serve. This program also focuses on the need for highly effective master-level teachers in low-income communities, while also recognizing the changing landscape of education.

Admitted to a highly selective cohort of recent college graduates and career changers committed to raising student achievement in Baltimore’s highest need schools. Participated in a six-week summer training institute, including a four week student teaching experience. Continued two year program with a focus on culturally relevant pedagogy, including Professional Development sessions and frequent observations to implement and reflect upon best instructional practices.

Taught Fifth and Sixth grade English Language Arts in Baltimore, Maryland. Experienced with an average of 30 students while able to maintain behavior management in order to maximize instructional time. Able to conduct small group and individual focused classroom activities based on differentiated learning needs to ensure that all students are learning at full potential. Practiced a constant reflection on best practices and strategies in order to improve future instruction.

Worked in various film sets, including the HBO series VEEP and the Netflix original House of Cards. Responsible for the administration, organization and secretarial work involved in producing each television program, including assisting actors and crew, issuing scripts, dealing with travel and accommodation bookings and sorting out inquiries and other paperwork.
